On each product page, our ethical tag explains how a product is made, which materials are used, how it is packaged, and the standards our suppliers work towards. Rather than making broad sustainability claims, we use this system to provide more specific information at the product level.
Every product is reviewed using information from our suppliers, which we carefully check, question and review. Where a supplier holds relevant third-party certifications for materials, fair pay or working conditions, we include this information on the product page.
The system also helps us stay accountable. By looking closely at each product, we can make better sourcing decisions, highlight areas for improvement and give customers clearer information before they buy.
Our tags are not about claiming perfection. They are a practical way to improve transparency, ask better questions and show the standards behind the products we choose to sell.

Responsible Materials
This tag looks at the materials used in a product. We consider whether materials are renewable, recycled, responsibly sourced, or lower-impact than common alternatives. For Bokel Home furniture, this often includes solid mango wood, a durable material valued for its strength, and use within responsible furniture production.
Sustainable Packaging
This tag examines the packaging used for each product, including its sourcing and use throughout the supply chain. Each product is awarded a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum packaging tier. This helps customers understand the packaging standards behind a product and helps us identify where improvements can be made.
Stand Against Sweatshops
This tag looks at supplier standards, including fair pay, safe working conditions and equal treatment for the people involved in production. We review supplier information, recognised certifications and evidence of responsible working practices, sharing relevant details on each product page where available.
