FAQ
Why do you use mango wood?
Mango wood is a hardwood that is derived from trees that have reached the end of their fruit-bearing life, with new trees planted in their place. This approach supports more responsible sourcing, while retaining the durability and structure of solid hardwood.

Why are most of your bookcases and shelving made to order?
Many of our bookcases and shelving are made to order rather than held in large stock. This allows pieces to be made more intentionally in line with demand, rather than mass produced in advance.
Due to their size and design variation, producing shelving this way also helps avoid unnecessary overproduction while maintaining the same materials, proportions, and overall quality.
How do I choose the right finish?
The right finish depends on how the bookcase or shelving will be used, and the overall look you want to achieve. Lighter finishes tend to highlight the natural grain of the wood and suit more modern or Scandinavian interiors, while deeper tones such as chestnut or walnut add contrast and lean more towards a vintage feel.
Each piece can also be customised through our Custom Design Service, with options for hand-painted finishes or custom stains. If you’re unsure, we’ve put together a more detailed guide on selecting the right stain, or you can get in touch for tailored advice.
What depth should shelves or bookcases be?
The depth should suit what you plan to store. Shallower shelves work well for books and smaller items, while deeper designs can accommodate larger objects or storage boxes.
Do bookcases need to be fixed to the wall?
Taller bookcases can be fixed to the wall for added stability, particularly in homes with uneven floors or where additional support is preferred.
