Amai Etched Round Tray - Brass

£25.00

Brass

Ethically sourced

Free delivery over £60

Easy 28-day returns

The Amai etched round tray combines warm aged brass with intricate hand-etched detailing to create a piece that feels both decorative and functional. The etched pattern creates depth across the surface and draws the eye to the craftsmanship in the design. Warm brass tones sit comfortably in both contemporary and traditional interiors, making the tray an elegant way to display candles, glassware or treasured objects throughout the home.

Skilled metalworkers shape each tray from brass before carefully etching the decorative pattern by hand. This traditional technique creates subtle variations in the design, giving every piece its own unique character. The aged brass finish enhances the depth of the etched detailing and highlights the craftsmanship behind each tray.

Responsible Materials

Our Ethical Tag System

The materials in Nkuku's solid brass range are carefully chosen because they are as kind to the planet as they are beautiful in your home.

By combining an iron base with a hand-hammered, aged brass finish, Nkuku are utilising two raw metals that are indefinitely recyclable and can be melted down and reused forever without losing their strength or quality. Instead of relying solely on newly mined resources, this piece incorporates repurposed industrial metal waste and offcuts gathered from local manufacturing, giving a second life to materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

This tray is shaped entirely by hand using traditional artisan hammering techniques, meaning its production avoids the high fossil-fuel emissions associated with heavy, mass-production factory lines. When you choose this tray, you are investing in a durable piece of "slow design" built for longevity, ensuring it stays out of landfills and aligns with the highest independent standards of a Certified B Corporation.

Sustainable Packaging

Our Ethical Tag System

Nkuku ensures its packaging aligns with its ethical standards by using a minimum of 85% plastic-free packaging across its range, opting for FSC-certified corrugated cardboard, unbleached paper, and biodegradable tape instead. For fragile recycled glassware, they replace conventional styrofoam and bubble wrap with honeycomb paper wrap and recycled paper pulp moldings that protect products without generating persistent landfill waste. Furthermore, all transit boxes are fully recyclable, and the brand works directly with its artisan workshops to eliminate single-use polythene bags at the point of origin, ensuring products remain environmentally responsible from production to final delivery.

Stand Against Sweatshops

Our Ethical Tag System

This product was crafted in India.

Nkuku takes a strict stand against sweatshops by holding all supplier sites and subcontractors to the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code, which guarantees safe working conditions, living wages, and zero tolerance for forced or child labour.

As a certified B Corp, the brand works directly with independent artisan cooperatives, fair-trade businesses, and social enterprises rather than unverified middlemen. Compliance is verified through regular on-site visits and independent third-party audits, while Nkuku's practice of setting realistic, humane production lead times prevents the forced overtime and high-pressure environments typical of traditional mass manufacturing.
